Chao Hu have chaired more than 20 and joined more than 10 research projects, including Chinese National Sc. & Tech. Pillaring Plan, 863 plan, Orthopaedic Surgery Robot, Chinese Science Academy Knowledge Innovation Engineering Plan, (2010.1～2012.12), Chinese Science Academy and Guangdong Province Cooperation Project, Guangdong Province and Shenzhen Government Sc. and Tech.. Research Funds, and some industrial projects. He published more than 100 papers, including 70 SCI & EI indexed papers. He got more than 10 research awards, including The 3rd class National Science & Technological Development Award, 2004 SPIE Education Scholarship, Shenzhen High-grade Professional Talent，IEEE ICIA 2009 Conf. Best Paper Award, Natural Science Research 3rd-Grade Paper Award by Zhejiang Province, the class Science & Technological Development Award by Zhejiang Province. He applied more than 15 patents, including 7 invention patents. He was the project chairmen and committee members of IEEE international conferences, IEEE ROBIO 2007，IEEE AIM 2008，IEEE WCICA 2010, IEEE ICAL 2009, IEEE ICAL 2010, and etc.
