Resume:

RESEARCH INTERESTS:

The primary focus of my research is the geochemical palaeoenvironment during the Permian-Triassic transition, particularly under the applications of stable C-isotope and molecular organic geochemistry. The investigated sites include the Permian-Triassic marine sections in southern China and the terrestrial Permian-Triassic sequences in the northwestern China. My researches are to discriminate the associations of carbon-cycle anomalies with marine euxinia and volcanic eruptions in Siberia or in southern China around the end-Permian mass extinction event, and also try to correlate geochemically the marine C-isotopic anomalies with that recorded in the terrestrial ecosystems in the Permian-Triassic transition.

In recent years, my researching field has been extended to the marine Permian Lopingian strata in southern China, especially on the investigations of C-isotopic excursions and lipid biomarker evidence. This research is trying to recover a long-term environmental evolution over 8 Ma during the entire Permian Lopingian, and also to discuss the relationship between the pre-Lopingian and end-Permian mass extinction events.
