  • 博士研究生导师, 1987~1990年在英国洛桑实验站留学,获英国雷丁大学哲学博士学位。1998年2月至今在中科院亚热带农业生态研究所工作。曾任第十届全国人大代表、全国青联常委等职务。现任中科院亚热带农业生态研究所首席研究员、所学术委员会主任、重点实验室主任,国家自然科学基金评审专家,《土壤学报》编委,湖南省政协常委,中国土壤学会理事,湖南省土壤学会副理事长等职务。
    长期从事土壤环境生态研究,在土壤生物方向取得一批国内外公认的研究成果,建立了土壤微生物生物量碳、磷、硫测定方法等6个国际通用的新方法;阐明了土壤微生物生物周转与有机质积累的内在关系等。先后获国家杰出青年基金、中科院青年科学家奖、中科院“引进国外杰出人才”(“百人计划”)、国家“百千万人才工程”高层次人选、湖南省科学技术进步一、二等奖、中国科学院自然科学二等奖、湖南省自然科学奖二等奖、湖南省跨世纪学术和技术带头人、湖南青年五四奖章、政府特殊津贴、国家留学回国人员成就奖等;至今主持完成国内及国际合作项目20余项,已授权(申请)发明专利17项,主编专著2部,参编著作7部,发表期刊学术论文210余篇,其中SCI(EI)收录60余篇并被80多种国际核心期刊引用1300余次,单篇引用率最高682次。
