Currently Dr. Liang serves as the deputy director of the Key Laboratory of the Zoological Systematics and Evolution of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He also serves as the associate editor of the ActaZootaxonomicaSinica, subject editors of the Journal of the Kansas Entomological Society and Zootaxa, and the editorial board members of the Oriental Insects, Psyche, Journal of Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Entomotaxonomia and China Nature.

Research Interests:
Dr. Liang’s research interests center around the taxonomy, morphology, phylogeny, evolution and biogeography of spittlebug superfamily Cercopoidea and planthopper superfamily Fulgoroidea (Hemiptera: Auchenorrhyncha) of the Oriental and eastern Palaearctic regions and the ultrastructural morphology and evolution of the suborder Auchenorrhyncha (Hemiptera).
