| Education and Appointments: |
Hong-Rui Fan, male, was born in 1963 in Anhui Province. He received the Ph.D. Degree in Petrology (specialization in ore-forming fluids) from Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1990. Since that time, he has conducted research at Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences where he is currently professor and supervisor for Ph.D. student in petrology and mineral resources, and director of Fluid Inclusion Lab of the Institute. Research interests have focused on the model and origin of a number of different types of ore deposits, particularly of precious metal and REE ore deposits in the Jiangxi, Shandong, Henan, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang provinces, and applications of fluid inclusions in metal ores, petroleum and geothermal resources. He was once a visiting fellow at the Key Center for Strategic Mineral Deposits, Department of Geology and Geophysics, the University of Western Australia from May 1994 to Sept. 1995. He has published more than 90 papers including 18 SCI papers and one scientific book. Education: Nanjing University, Geochemistry, B.S. degree in 1984; Nanjing University, Geochemistry, Geochemistry, M.S. degree in 1987; Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Petrology (specialization in ore-forming fluids), Ph.D degree in 1990 Public Services: Regional vice-president, SGA (Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits) (2008~2009) Director, fluid inclusion committee, Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry |
