Li-Yun Fu Professor in seismology, Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. After receiving a BS (1985) in geophysics from China Chengdu College of Geology, Li-Yun Fu commenced his research career with the China Offshore Oil Exploration & Development Research Center and obtained his MS (1992) and PhD (1995) in geophysics at China University of Petroleum. From 1995 to 1997, he was a postdoctoral fellow in engineering mechanics, Tsinghua University, Beijing. In 1997, Li-Yun moved to the Institute of Tectonics, University of California, Santa Cruz as a researcher, investigating Lg phases in the crust and simulating crustal wave propagation. Li-Yun joined Australia CSIRO in August 1999 as a scientist staff and worked on geopressure based on acoustics. In 2004, Li-Yun joined Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences to head seismology group. He is a member of SEG, AGU, and SSA. He has authored and co-authored a number of journal papers and book chapters. |
