1959年2月生，博士，中国科学院广州地球化学研究所所长。中国地质学会副理事长、中国岩石矿物地球化学学会理事。获广东省科学技术一等奖（2006年度）。发表论文60余篇。主要从事岩浆作用、地幔地球化学和大陆岩石圈构造等领域研究。明确提出了中新生代华北岩石圈减薄或被破坏的概念，论证了华北克拉通东部自晚古生代以来，有100多公里的岩石圈地幔发生了丢失，岩石圈地幔的性质与现代软流圈地幔相似，将华北克拉通岩石圈减薄这一科学问题推向了国际学术界；对大别山中生代火山作用的研究提出了大陆深俯冲形成‘三明治’式富集岩石圈地幔的观点；对东北地区晚中生代火山岩的成因研究，提出蒙古-鄂霍茨克构造带碰撞效应的后造山伸展区域地球动力学背景的认识；在开展与峨眉山地幔柱有关的岩浆作用研究中，初步确立了扬子陆块南缘不同岩区晚古生代火山岩的岩石地球化学特征。
