- Dr. Feng is one of the chief scientists belongs to "The Hundred Talents Program" of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Currently he is he chief scientist in the Laboratory for Air-conditioning and Thermal Storage Technology, Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion. And also the expert of National 863 Program, the academic leader of Knowledge Innovation Program of CAS.
He mainly engaged in the research and development of the technologies of the advanced thermal storage, heat pump, air conditioning, and the energy efficiency in thermal power engineering, etc. The most important research performances since he came from abroad in 2003 are as following: developed the dynamic thermal storage technology with ice slurry and has realized industrialization. Developed the latent-heat transportation technique for central air-conditioning and district cooling systems. Developed the gas engine-driven heat pump (GHP) which has realized volume production with the cooperation of the Haier Group. He also has been researching and developing other technologies related to thermal storage and air-conditioning technique.
So far, he has published about more than 100 scientific papers, applied for over 30 patents, and won over 4 national or provincial/ministry scientific research rewards.
What’s more, he has directed 1 key project and 3 exploration programs of the National High Technology Research Program of China(HTRDP 863), to date, finished 1 key project of the Major Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 2 planning programs of Guangdong Province Key Sci-tech Research Projects, and 2 directional innovation projects of Chinese Academy of Sciences. At the same time, he has accomplished 2 items authorized by the Haier Group and 2 by Gree Electric Appliance (GREE).
